January, 2006 fuselage work

Jan 10 - rivet F745 and F768B in place.  It was slow going - awkward to get to.  Rivets mostly came out OK, though.  2.5 hr

Jan 12 - finish riveting F745 fwd ribs and F768B sub panel  2.0 hr

Here is the RT F768B riveted in place.  It wasn't easy getting at those 6 rivets under the longeron, but I eventually got it done OK with an offset rivet set.   I wanted to get this out of the way for my engine wiring work.

Here is the LT F768B sub panel and the LT F745 rib riveted.

Jan 15 - While waiting for parts for other areas of the project, looked into installing the brake lines.  I had neglected to install the 90 degree AN fitting onto the brake calipers before installing them.  Now, they won't screw on without hitting the brake rotor and the sheet metal shroud next to the rotor (I forget the nomenclature for it).  A 45 degree fitting should work fine, so I will order a couple in my next order, rather than go through the trouble of un-safetying the caliper and removing it.  Also, continuing to work on engine and resuming work on avionics 0.75 hr
