This is the procedure you can expect to be used by most DAR's to inspect an amateur-built aircraft.

Letter of Request for Certification

Application for Airworthiness Certificate, 8130-6

Eligibility Statement, 8130-12 (and driver's license number with photo)

Registration Certificate (daytime phone number)

Weight and Balance data

Passenger Warning placard

N numbers

ID plate on rear of aircraft

Name plate (stainless steel)

Equipment list

Required equipment compass airspeed indicator (red line marked) altimeter tachometer (red line marked, operating range marked) oil pressure (operating range marked) oil temp (operating range marked) fuel indicator fuel pressure aux fuel pump carb heat (if necessary)

Examination of aircraft to ensure that proper workmanship demonstrated

Review aircraft builder's log

Inspection recorded in logs by builder

Issue Airworthiness Certificate (Yeah!)

Issue operating limitations

Airworthiness and operating limitations recorded in logs

Fill out 8100

Compliance with FAR 91.319
